An impressive British thriller
By hensonator (33 reviews) from Northampton , 01 May 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
A terrifically enjoyable British film from debut writer-director J Blakeson, who on the tightest of budgets delivers a professionally honed thriller, melodramatic maybe, but socked over with cracking energy. Eddie Marsan and Martin Compston play Vic and Danny, two crims who kidnap Alice, a rich daddy's-girl played by the impressive Gemma Arterton. But Alice isn't taking it lying down. There's twist and counter-twist, cross and double-cross, and with each narrative reveal comes a firework display of Big Acting. It's taut, claustrophobic and very well put together, with nice performances all round. The opening, wordless sequence in which Vic and Danny convert a nondescript flat into a prison for their hostage is really very good. Blakeson is a name to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

(342)Good, worth a look...
By SiSlayRD500 (132 reviews) from Solihull , 15 May 2013I thought that overall this was good. Quite slow, but it was strangely engaging enough to keep me watching until the end. Believable characters and quite good acting too. Ending was a little predictable, but if you don't HAVE to have a faster paced film etc then this is worth a look.- Was this review helpful to you?

Just an ok watch
By a customer , 10 May 2013Mildly interesting. A lot of violence, nudity and swearing - the last of which I am not fond of. Has a British film feel about it which I don't normally like. Arterton does get'em both out which was very nice!- Was this review helpful to you?

Great movie
By a customer , 08 Apr 2013I actually just watched this accidentally. It was on TV and there was nothing else to watch. It got more and more interesting and I couldnt switch off and had to watch it all the way through. It wasnt till it had finished that I realised there were only 3 actors in it. I didnt like the nudity but apart from that it was really good.- Was this review helpful to you?

Okay British thriller.
By CHRISTOBEN (99 reviews) from Loughborough , 23 Mar 2013Okay British thriller - although the low budget is obvious from the outset, there are good, solid performances from the cast and just about enough twists and surprises along the way to hold your interest.- Was this review helpful to you?
