    Crying, talking, sleeping, walking...

Most great horror movies are able to tap in to the viewers supressed fears. Childhood fears are always a good source of entertainment, be it clowns, things that go bump in the night or in this case, demonic dolls. In taking an interesting premise, one that sees childhood toys coming to life, the director fails to capitalise on a couple of interesting themes. One being a disillusioned human doll that doesn't understand why her best friend ditched her all those years before.

Instead he takes the over familiar horror route and kills off his unappealing cast members in a variety of unpleasent and ultimately scare free set pieces which have all been done before.

The film Shutter proves that over familiarity doesn't have to get in the way of a good movie but when a film has nothing else going for it in the first place then it's hard to feel enthusiastic about yet another black haired demon out for revenge.

Maybe it's time that Eastern horror reinvented itself, then Hollywood can bleed it dry all over again.

Ever wondered what happened to your old dolls?

If you liked Ring/Juon you will love this Japanese horror.

The storyline is more indepth with loads of scares along the way. A 'must see' for horror fans left me with nightmares and wondering what had happened to my old abandoned dolls - very creepy!
