No vampires here but its pretty much business as usual for Rollin. Twin girls setting out on a picaresque journey through a blighted late seventies France. Cue pirates, tired looking strippers on the back of a truck, ice skating, peculiar monied older men and text book cameo from Brigitte Lahaie's breasts.
A lot of the early part of the film set in the girls's wintry and sprawling home is oddly effective, if a lot more subdued and contemplative than usual Rollin fare. Its is as numb as any of his others though. Rollins films seem to be about the slow, incommunicable erosion of his protagonists. These girls are practically zombies.
