    [Highly rated reviewer]

The third - and seemingly ultimate - of the Evil Dead movies discovers Ash Williams and his trusty chainsaw, somehow transferred to medieval England, about to clash, once again, with the undead. Whilst being an alien in a peculiar place, he entices an auspicious young woman, Sheila and assists the hesitant inhabitants.

One of the wonderful things about this film is that it progresses at such a rip-roaring swiftness that one has barely time to catch their breath or even total the irrationality of the story. But, who cares? This submission, which somewhat avoids the initial Evil Dead's basis, and exploits more of the crazed, intense rapidity of Evil Dead 2, seems contented to tender considerable quantities of humour mixed with guttural bloodshed and merely the thinnest character exposition. This is a magnificent conclusion to the finest trilogy in the comedy horror genre (probably).

Army of Darkness cranks up the humour and set pieces. The funniest film of the 3 with one liners and cheesy lines throughout. I have had a copy in my possesion ever since it came out on vhs! Love it!

unfortunately this is yet another blu-ray disc that has been region coded to only play on REGION 'B' players and will not work on my north american PS3.

Why they insist on creating region coding for some 'back catalogue' films is beyond me!!!!

B movie, like the others, but more so. Evil Dead II is the best because it told an already simple story more simply. This is the worst because it tries to 'add value' by sticking in cod-historical references and even a romance - not a good idea with this kind of thing. Fun enough on its own terms but I can't imagine sitting through it again.

this is by far the most slapstick and frankly daftest of the evil dead series, and the funnyest.

the sheer tounge in cheek violence and gags are enough to make you laugh, never mind the blantantly cheap affects.

poor ash must be the unluckiest man alive and the dead truly have it in for him, but he gets home in the end. (though not in the alternate ending on the bonus features, the directors really are sadistic!)

my advice, rent this as a good laugh, not a horror film. cos its about as scary as shawn of the dead, and as funny.

    enjoy!

A massive cinema experience and a great deal of fun. while a lot mroe grpahic then the Spider-Man series iw oudl feel comfortable watching it with older kids.

the raimi school or horror and comedy.

its worth seeing the different endings and the extras are quite good too as raimi makes a great racounter
