The Fallen Ones
An original movie made for The Sci-Fi Channel, 'The Fallen Ones', stars Casper Van Dien, the chiselled action star who rose to fame as the lead in Starship Troopers'. In a take on the Indiana Jones role, Van Dien plays intrepid archaeologist Matt Fletcher. On a dig, Fletcher comes upon a giant mummy, which turns out to be the progeny of a Fallen Angel and a human female. However, digging up these remains unleashes an evil presence into the world, as this giant mummy has a diabolical plan to repopulate the Earth with giants like him and take over its power.

Oh it just can't be...
Normally, when a film has nothing but bad reviews, I can manage to find something to enjoy about it. Having ignored the reviews on this film and renting it, I've decided to start paying more attention to what other people say.
This film, is, Terrible.
I was close to turning it off after 15-20 minutes, the script was only just present, the characters would have been better performed by our favourite Ents from The Lord of the Rings, the direction was appaling... But, one of the things that drew me to the film in the first place was the premice behind the story, an ancient race that lived pre-catastrophe, a race of intelligent beings, of giants! It's a great theory, and, despite the quality of the film, I really wanted to see how somebody else interpreted the whole thing.
Despite my interest in the subject hidden behind this monstrosity of a film, a still feel my life was wasted over the seven hours watching the film (it seemed like seven hours anyway.)
Please, anybody reading this, stand up with the rest of us against this film. It *MUST* be erased from history! -

It's true........it really is THAT bad
The main thing I am astonsished by is how this film managed to score an average of 2 stars.I couldn't believe how lame the story/effects/location/budget were; seriously, it is well below what used to get churned out on Xena or the Hercules TV shows. I also felt obliged to do what a previous reviewer mentioned- pressing 'fast forward' to see if it remained as bad all the way through. It was. And how low Casper van Dien has sunk- he is indeed the true 'fallen one' (tee hee!)
