Festive feelgood..
By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 13 Oct 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
This is a wonderful dream of a movie that just soaks you in and blankets you with warmth. It is one of those very special treats that just makes you feel all warm.. and..oh yes... It will make you cry.. even if you are a 6ft 6 ark welder from Hull. You have been warned, watch it at your own risk with your kleenex.. but just watch it..- Was this review helpful to you?

Rent something else!
By a customer , 28 Nov 2011What a waste of an hour and 45 minutes, completely unbelievable storyline, wanted to switch off but carried on watching in the hope that by some absolute miracle it would improve!- Was this review helpful to you?

Middle-of-the-road and safe - a film to do the ironing with
By NickandorKazz (35 reviews) from UK , 03 Jul 2011There's not much to say about this film because everything about it is just sort of 'meh'. The cast is alright, the acting was alright, the plot is alright. The only acting I found interesting and believable came from Claire Danes and Rachel McAdams (who unfortunately has a small part). I felt everyone else was just being very formulaic and not really trying. There is very little chemistry between anyone and I couldn't really believe any of the relationships. Dermot Mulroney and Diane Keaton are the same as they are in a load of other similar films.
The film is, in my opinion, saved by Claire Danes. Without her I might've fallen asleep or just stopped watching.
Still, it is a safe choice for an evening in if you don't want to think about much. If you have ironing to do, this is a good film to do it with because you're not going to miss much by not looking at the screen the whole time.- Was this review helpful to you?
