The adult entertainment industry is the focus for a contemporary reworking of the traditional love triangle theme in this dark and occasionally humorous drama. Turning obsession, greed and confused sexuality into a ticking emotional time bomb, The Fluffer interweaves the turbulent lives of an adult movie star, his stripper girlfriend and a cameraman so enamoured with the star that he'll perform the most intimate of on-set functions for him. Though the story unfolds against a gay porn setting which may marginalise the film's appeal, directors Wash West and Richard Glatzer present a story that is of direct and equal relevance to audiences of all sexual persuasions. In fact, anybody who's ever been in love will identify with the characters. However, what will attract the majority of viewers is the film's refreshingly candid vision of the adult entertainment world which even today remains predominantly cloaked in myth and rumour. Much of this is down to West, who is actually a maker of adult movies. That said, anybody expecting cheap titillation will be disappointed because, ultimately, this movie is a tale aimed at the heart, not below the belt.

    Excellent

This film is a very thought-provoking look at the male porn industry, seen through the eyes of a young man who has a crush on one of the stars. The film makes you question your own perceptions of porn, and the sex industry in general. The acting is superb. The film has a very genuine feel to it, enhanced by the presence of some very well-known porn stars, now aged, playing cameo roles as the behind-the-scenes movers in the industry. The film is worth watching alone for Scott Gurney's performance; he is physical perfection- the ultimate porn star. Inside, however, he has been corrupted by the corruption around him. Excellent film

    Really not just soft porn

It may seem to be just an excuse for some nudity but this film takes a very serious if light look at the porn industry and the damage it can do to people.

It makes you stop and think about the exploitation of porn stars and their disposability but this time it's not women being used - it's the men. You want our hero to make the right decisions but will he?

    Not bad at all

I forgot that I had this on my list, but it arrived this morning and having watched it this afternoon I can report that it was very watchable. Very little sex if any at all, very limited nudity, I was surprised that it had an 18 rating.

The film had a plot and a good storyline, and should not be limited to a gay only audience.

    Nice visuals

If you like your men buff then you will like on of the lead men..always showing his hard body (well not all of it - pre R18)A slow yarn that makes little sense.

    A Great Film

I have to say I was not expecting much, however I thought this film was great. A sad love affair that never really happened.

    Healthy dose of erotism

An erotic and saucy film without falling into dirty-porno gay style. With an interesting story and an eye-catcher lead actor (Scott Gurney) this movie tells the story of both sides of a relationship (the one who loves and the other who maintains emotional distance). An overlook of human emotions. Sad ending...
