LOVEFiLM Review

By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM
An amusing yet touching indie film that draws you in with its oddball quirkiness.

Worth a look

I really enjoyed this film. The cat thing is slightly irritating but there's plenty here to ponder on the nature of time, love and making the most of what you have.- Was this review helpful to you?

By MelissaMarabamma (218 reviews) from South Coast UK , 26 Apr 2013What a waste of time and film. You have to have something better to spend your life on. Okay I don't get it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Well... I liked it
By I_got_5_on_it (1 review) , 25 Apr 2013Thought I'd write a review of this film, seeing as there's a lot of pretty negative ones on here. I thought this was a really interesting movie. I get why people might not enjoy this one, but personally I thought it was really good. It's an interesting portrait of two thirty-somethings who've found themselves in a rut, as they begin to reassess their careers and life together. It uses fantastical elements to explore something very real. As has been mentioned, it does feature some fairly ostentatious quirk, but it didn't particularly detract from the film, and in some places is used to great effect. It's by no means a laugh-a-minute, and it's not fast paced, but that's not what it's about. Nor is the film going to tell you how to feel about it all. Ultimately, before watching, know what you're getting into. If what I've described doesn't sound like your thing, I'd give it a miss. On the other hand, if you're into this sort of thing, I heartily recommend it.- Was this review helpful to you?

don't watch it!
By francesrickard (2 reviews) , 31 Mar 2013I fell asleep half way through this film, and carried on watching it when I woke up. I don't think I had missed much. The actors, and the cat, all have really dreadful squeaky voices, and I couldn't understand the story at all. I don't think it would have been any clearer if I had stayed awake. The couple are unlikable, un-believable not weird enough to be wierd, but not normal enough to be normal. ugh. actually quite creepy. and I am wondering why I persevered until the end even though my eyes were telling me not to.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sorry, I Tried to Like It
By randystrimmer (6 reviews) from Exeter , 19 Jan 2013I like to think of myself as open minded with a fair degree of intelligence, but I couldn't wait for this film to end (I always give a film the courtesy of seeing it all the way through). This is an 'Art Film', made by an artist with all the ponderous musings, 'deep' metaphors and a talking cat as a narrator. Yes, that's right, and no it's not funny, although a humorous undertone may have been intended. Those who appreciate Ms July's work, in all media, will no doubt find this a treat. Certainly, tread with caution if you're a beginner.- Was this review helpful to you?
