The Getaway
Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger star in the highly charged remake of Sam Peckinpah's classic action-thriller. In a world where dishonour is commonplace, master thief Doc McCoy (Baldwin) is the exception. He lives by a code of ethics and stands by his word. His wife and partner in crime, Carol (Basinger), is a beautiful woman willing to do whatever it takes to free her husband when he is left to rot in a Mexican jail. But their love and trust is severely tested when Carol becomes involved with the evil and corrupt Jack Benyon (James Woods) who agrees to get Doc released - on one condition. Now all Doc and Carol have to do is pull off a major robbery.

Slick, fast-moving thriller, an involved tale of duplicity and deception, but no improvement on the original and hardly worth re-making.
