The first film in the Millennium trilogy. Noomi Rapace is amazing in the role as Lisbeth Salander. You will not be disappointed even if you have read the books.- Was this review helpful to you?

(927)A real thriller
By JillyB (4 reviews) , 26 Mar 2013Watched this with the English audio on. Were so caught up in the plot that we almost didn't notice the dubbing. Wasn't expecting the ending. Kept my husband's attention to the end which doesn't happen often! Hope they do the next two books. Word of caution though, could make some people very uncomfortable in a couple of places.- Was this review helpful to you?

Original Swedish version angry young girl
By Bobsview (549 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 11 Mar 2013Original Swedish version with dubbing in English. I liked it. A very good thriller. I very nearly gave it an 8. Grim and hard hitting.- Was this review helpful to you?

well worth watching, maybe not for the faint hearted...
By IanStuart (10 reviews) , 04 Mar 2013Having seen the Daniel Craig / Hollywood version of this movie at the cinema on its release - and enjoyed it very much - I wanted to see the original Swedish version. It didnt disappoint; a great cast and great atmosphere bring the film to life exactly as Id hoped. Even though both movies are clearly adapted from the same book, there are differences in the actual story, and indeed the story-telling. This makes for an interesting movie, even if you have seen the Hollywood version. I have not personally read the book, but I am told that each film remains true to the book in some areas, and less so in others, resulting in the interesting differences between the two. As to which one is best, I couldnt tell you; they are equally as good. As for the subtitles, I personally had no issue with them and actually forgot after a while I was reading them... I'd advise caution if you're not comfortable with gritty realism; some scenes could definitely upset the faint hearted...- Was this review helpful to you?

Very disappointed.
By Jimbo76 (14 reviews) , 11 Feb 2013Was so looking forward to this film but was really disappointed. Story line one so one track and I don't feel it really went anywhere. Wouldn't even attempt to watch re-make.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very enjoyable
By Leolion (15 reviews) , 21 Jan 2013Not usually too good with foreign films but have to say it lives up to what I had heard. A really good film with some very decent twists and the cast are well portrayed. Will watch the others for sure.- Was this review helpful to you?
