Better than the Swedish original.Good film of a good previous film and great book
By roncoach (369 reviews) from suffolk , 06 Jun 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Not a classic, but very good indeed.
They said David Fincher could not better the Swedish version. IMHO he has done so. And he has remained true to the book trilogy.
Daniel Craig plays his part well, big-name co-stars all do well; but Rooney Mara steals the show with an unforgettable performance.
Retaining all its original Swedish flavour and scenery, this film is way above the average for movies at this time.- Was this review helpful to you?

(266)Girl with the -you know the rest
By Bobsview (559 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 11 Mar 2013Daniel Craig . Thriller about the abuse of women. Explicit rape scene may cause offense to some. An excellent remake of this popular book. The plot is still as complicated and difficult to follow due to the vast number of Swedes involved many from the same family. Helps if you have seen the other version or read the book. I preferrred it to the Swedish original.- Was this review helpful to you?

Swedish or English? You'll like whichever you see first
By a customer , 07 Mar 2013If you've seen the original (and in my view better) swedish version, then you'll already know the story, so this won't have any surprises for you. To be fair, I think if you see this one first you'll love it, and probably feel the same about the swedish version. Noomi Rapace is much better as Lisbeth than Rooney Mara though.- Was this review helpful to you?

Good but not brilliant
By Daxigirl (5 reviews) , 05 Mar 2013Good film but definitely not as brilliant as the original film. This film is not as true to the book and seems to rush the story.- Was this review helpful to you?

if you are offended by sexual violence avoid this film!
By anna_mcship (7 reviews) , 01 Mar 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
The description for this film does not mention a very horrific rape scene and as it takes up alot of the film, i think it deserves a mention. As if it even mentioned sexual violence i would not have rented this. Shame as the film was quite good and didn't need that plot point.- Was this review helpful to you?
