I watched this film thinking its a comedy,its not. Very deep stuff regarding relationships. Gets tedious sometime ,I nearly left halfway through. Lots of dialogue. Some nudity,but I dont think its everbodys cup of tea. Quite boring. Gave 3 stars for the story.- Was this review helpful to you?

A drab movie about commerce that lacks an ID
By a customer , 22 Apr 2013What is this film meant to be about? It isn't about desire, or (in)conspicuous consumption. It isn't about the scenario that makes a woman become an escort, a man become a client. You would think it was by Jim Jarmusch, so replete it is with monotonous conversations, droning on, devoid of interest. Chelsea, the high class hooker, is dull-eyed, tight-lipped, charmless and completely devoid of any kind of inner life. That she could have a boyfriend, regardless of her profession, is inconceivable. There's some prattle about investments, personality tests, marketing...things that make life painful and boring. If the intention was to make the life of the upscale businessman and woman seem like Hell in Manhattan, the director succeeded admirably, but why would I want to watch that for so long?- Was this review helpful to you?

Interesting drama/social commentary

This is similar to Diary of a Callgirl where you get to see and hear about a variety of clients and her boyfriend with some details about the economic climate. What a waste of talent!
By a customer , 25 Jan 2013This movie is so bad that I decided to pack it and return it back without even watching the rest of it. I'm not even complaining about the credit I wasted renting this! Good news is that Sasha Grey makes a good actress in this movie, providing a good insight on how she feels about her experiences which helps her bring her role. This movie is about her. The bad news is that the other actors look fake along with the camera work making this a dreadful watch. So dreadful that I was so bored to tear and sent the movie back without watching the entire thing. I don't know who to blame for this movie. If the director had to put up with such annoying cameramen, actors or whoever. It's a shame that the movie wastes alot of talent and I will never know how Sasha Grey really feels! Thankfully she does the voice acting in the video game Saint Rows 3. I would rather play that!- Was this review helpful to you?
