I used to love the Golden Girls when they first appeared on our screens in the Eighties. It was funny, witty, entertaining and I even liked their clothes!!!!! Well, it's almost 20 years later - a lot can change in that time and I am actually quite sad to report that the Golden Girls just don't do it for me anymore. Although Bea Arthur is still very enjoyable to watch and although still there are some brilliant lines, I now just want to shake the 3 of them and tell them to get over themselves. As for the clothes .......- Was this review helpful to you?

(29)Very funny, great characters.
By dally (297 reviews) from Belfast , 03 Dec 2010Have not seen these shows for some years. The clothes may be dated but the humour is still very good. Not quite up to Frasier standard but pretty close. Each of the 4 main chacters are very witty and you do tend to lean towards Rose as the main object of humour. I look forward to series 2.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008The Best laugh I have had in a long while watching my first DVD from Amazon and first 6 episodes of Golden Girls. I am looking forward to receiving further DVDs in these series and others.
I have never seen the Golden Girls programme in UK. Nor any repeats which is a shame. However the humour is 'Transatlantic'
and the British are so very parochial! I know I am one, but I escaped to work abroad!- Was this review helpful to you?

By mamamousse (1 review) from Manchester , 07 Mar 2008My children and I use to love watching 'Golden Girls' in the 1980s.My girls were only smal;l then, but they use to love it. We use to settle down on a Friday night and have pizza and drinks.
I have just watched it again with my eldest daughter, who is now 28 years old,we enjoyed it now, just as much as we did back in the eighties
Golden Girls is easy watching,it is witty and it is nice to watch something that is aimed at woman.
Go Golden girls.- Was this review helpful to you?
