For me personally, an overrated and unwelcome film.

I've always liked the idea of a Mrs Robinson, a beautiful older woman as my girlfriend. So I decided to rent the film that the phrase 'Mrs Robinson' actually comes from. So imagine my horror when I find out that Mrs Robinson is actually a married adulterer who lies and manipulates Hoffman's character, damn near destroying him. I try to expand peoples minds to abstract relationships and open peoples minds. Instead this film degrades relationships with age gaps, and promotes the 'pick someone good looking your own age' train of thought. Having read other peoples reviews, it seems that this film is a satire on the american upper classes. It could well be, and if it was then I completely missed the point. Maybe I'll rewatch it when my dislike of this film has calmed down, and try to find the good points that I'm missing right now. One thing is for certain, I will not be looking for a 'Mrs Robinson' in the future. I'll want an attractive, mature woman, but I will not want a Mrs Robinson :)
