    [Highly rated reviewer]

I am not sure which dvd the previous reviewer saw. I thoroughly enjoyed the full colour travels around the main paintings in this production. Very interesting still and moving images(black and White naturally) of the artists at work. Many connections made between what was going on in the lives of the artists and references to other artists lives and work who were of influence. Really interesting analysis of the paintings picking aspects of the work and isolating parts of the compositions.. colour.. shapes.. brush strokes.. themes.

I had high expectations of this but at the end I just felt let-down. Not the best introduction to modern art for the beginner.

diffilcult to watch after 15mins as close ups of paintings and details impossible to appreciate when in black & white which was a shame because looking forward to being enlightened, so in frustration returned the dvd
