One of the most beautiful films ever made.

Like all of Rohmer's work, this is deceptively simple and for the uninterested, there may not seem much going on.
However, with Rohmer, it's all about the psychology of the characters, not the plot. This film portrays one woman's refusal to go with the flow in terms of relationships and the resulting loneliness and isolation that causes.
What makes this my favourite Rohmer film is the stunning scenery. Paris, and the French coast, and that wonderful closing shot (I won't spoil it). I so hope Rohmer's films get the Blu Ray treatment one day. This would look amazing in a good HD print.
