Dark scary but somehow not as scary as the 1st, maybe we have all got used to the long dark haired ghosts after the ring/grudge etc. I preferred this version to the american remake but there are plenty of good scares to be had in this sequel , the second half of the film is packed full of creepy moments and did i just see something moments???
Well worth a watch
A pretty good film on the whole, which has a somewhat creepy atmosphere at times (but has lost most of the tension and atmosphere found in the original and the remake), has average acting performances from most of the cast, and basic special effects and make-up (it has one good-looking effect, but that is pretty much copied from Ringu). The film is also silly at times (a wig attacking one of the characters for example), and much like the other films can get very confusing (mostly during the Chiharu chapter), but the last 5-minutes are good (and are probably the highlight of the movie). In the end the movie is a step-down from the original and the remake, but still enjoyable enough viewing on the whole. If you're a fan of the Ju-On movies you will probably find something to enjoy in the film, but if you haven't seen the other ones yet I would rather recommend watching the original or the remake instead.
