Grudge II has some genuinely spine tingling moments that really do have a horror factor about them, and it is much more of a film than Grudge I, however the storyline is paper thin, and there are better out there. I would say see it, but don't have it right at the top of your list.
I am afraid I must disagree with several other reviewers, and tell you this film is both poor as a sequel, and as a film. The acting is at best average, much of the plot is nonsensical, and the only decent part, the actual scares, seem to be the only reason for the film to exist! A series of set piece scares, and no plot!!
The scares themselves are very effective, and very well done and creepy,so a star for them alone, but by diluting the story and having one part of the film based in Chicago, the story as a whole suffers.
dvd is ok, a few extras, but overall, having been a fan of the first film, I was very disappointed with this.
