Good.. but there are better...
By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 06 Nov 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Grudge II has some genuinely spine tingling moments that really do have a horror factor about them, and it is much more of a film than Grudge I, however the storyline is paper thin, and there are better out there. I would say see it, but don't have it right at the top of your list.- Was this review helpful to you?

(152)Should have left it after the 1st film, did not think it was very good
By cfh87 (25 reviews) , 21 Nov 2011Not as good as the first film, which in itself was not as good as I was expecting. Should have left it after the first one really.
Some of the acting was not entirely believable from the start. I got a little bored and though it was quite startling in places, there are other films I would rather recommend.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't bother
By a customer from Ross-on-Wye , 10 Oct 2010Waste of a credit this one. Boring and not the slightest bit scary. Predictable and pointless leave well alone. If you like a good horror look elsewhere.- Was this review helpful to you?

A better second attempt
By Pennywise (4 reviews) from Cambs , 28 Sep 2010Takashi Shimizu once again tries to American-ise his Grudge franchise, but this time to greater effect. The first re-make was always going to suffer from the fragmented timeline of the original but this film is allowed to follow a natural path and is scarier for it.
In this film, we once again see Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) but are allowed to become involved with the other characters as well. This involvement helps to build that sense of dread that is so often lacking in the American re-makes of Japanese films. It's the fear that you can't get away from whatever it is that's after you.
The film may have lost its subtletly but manages to hang on to its purpose and a good few scares along the way. If you liked the first re-make then I'd definitely give it a go.- Was this review helpful to you?

I liked it
By Tatster (46 reviews) from stowmarket, suffolk , 22 Sep 2010Ok it's not as creepy as the first one (well not for me anyway) but I like the story, and the way they are done is very good. I have to confess I have never seen the original grudge but so far I like these versions and look forward to watching the 3rd one. If you liked the first one then give this a look, I wasn't disappointed!!!- Was this review helpful to you?
