Most helpful review
Flawed but ok.
By No so silent Bob from Edinburgh , 27 Sep 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This film should have ended thirty minutes before it did. However first two thirds make great watching, then methinks the scriptwriter went on a little bender!- Was this review helpful to you?

Cheesy goodness (like a good stilton)
By tricey (3 reviews) from Brighton , 11 Oct 2012Actually found myself getting a little choked up by this at some points. It's a pretty cliche story of pupil with issues and mentor with deeper issues, which both resolve themselves with a cheesy predictable ending. but surprisingly well done. Good watch and also done with respect to those who do this job day to day. could've ended a little sooner and still would have been a great ending...but hey ho. Worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Top Gun
By marshman1 (2 reviews) , 04 Oct 2012This was an excellent film and you really believe you are
there among the waves. The sort of film that keeps you
engrossed until the end not like some were you keep looking
to see how much longer the film last. Good acting on Costner and Butchers part.- Was this review helpful to you?

Edge of the seat stuff.
By a customer , 26 Sep 2012Really enjoyed it and makes you appreciate the people who put their lives on the line to rescue people. A bit of ' An officer and a Gentleman' crept into the plot but the rescue sequences and Costner's acting more than made up for it.
I'm possibly biased a bit , just taken up sea kayaking and have scared myself once or twice but reassured by the fact that RNLI are there to help if things turn unpleasant.- Was this review helpful to you?

Formulaic and Terrible
By dave_the_x (1 review) , 20 Sep 2012Words cannot describe how terrible Ashton Kutcher is in everything he does, his lack of acting or any discernible charisma.
This film is the most formulaic piece of drivel I have ever seen. Man has scary experience doing some swimming, gets put on training rookies in swimming detail, hotshot rookie clashes heads with man, man and rookie gradually begin to respect each other, emergency puts man and rookie into life threatening experience, rookie comes good, man and rookie now walk hand in hand into the sunset together.
Save yourself 90 minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?
