    [Highly rated reviewer]

At the time of writing this review I have had a bad run of films with an average rating of no more than 2 stars for the last 10 movies (wonders why he added such dross to his list...). But this film has, thankfully, broken the cycle.

It's a rom com with some bollywood and sexual comedy thrown in. Jimi Mistry is very entertaining and Heather Graham is a pleasure to watch. And don't miss the bollywood version of You're The One That I Want from Grease. Excellent.

Okay, Rammu's change of heart and televised confession at the crucial moment is as camp and syrupy as Hollywood and Bollywood combined can make it, and some scenes and characters could have been better developed. But if you can take that in your stride, you can't help but be diverted by this delightful comedy. I can't understand why it wasn't more of a success, for it surely deserves it. The supporting cast is spot-on, and the final wedding scene alone is a gem. It's certainly made a Jimmy Mistry fan out of me.

  • One of the most Cringeworthy Films I have seen

What can I say, well this is one of the most cringeworthy, unfunny films I have ever seen . I am a massive Austin Powers fan and of Mike Myers. You have lost the plot Mike. What were you thinking. Or lack of thought. Absolutle crap. I really hope you come back with some more original work. People, please do not waste your life on watching this. You will never recover those hours.

    Living in hope.

    Joys in the ride.

This is good film for those who don't mind a bit of strange comedy. this is definately not one which will be of everyones taste. Its about an Indian man who goes to America to try and be famous and somehow gets wrapped up being 'The Guru' a guru of sex. Using his 'Porno teacher's' (dont ask! just watch) personal feeling as his script as the Guru, naturally like in most films they fall in love but she finds what he has been up to and isn't happy.

  • Joyous and fluffy

I found this a joyous rom-com with plenty of spice. It follows the story of a hunky young Indian dancer who leaves for America to try and become a star. He does so – but not in the way he expected. A knack for movement and an ability to soak up the projections of other people’s needs see him transformed by a desperate American princess into a ‘Sex guru’. But he’s got no ideas of his own – he’s getting those from a beautiful porn star who has discovered some soulful ways of having sex to be able to cope with her lifestyle. She’s also lying to her all-aAmerican, homely fireman fiance – who has a few skeletons in his closet, too. Cue the set-up for a brief betrayal, easily forgiven on account of the n-surprises-there-then secret love growing in our chiseled heroes’ hearts. And off it goes.

The film is peppered with gorgeous set-pieces borne of a culture clash in which an upper class American party dissolves into a mass of eastern dancing, and a few lovely Bollywood homages to Grease. Vigorous piss-taking of the commercialisation of eastern spirituality notwithstanding, the ultimate message is an important one, being to do with living with integrity, treading one’s own path, dropping pretence and ‘following the beat of your heart’.

A great watch!! Its a light movie which makes it an easy watch. Its a hilarious feel good movie and both Jimi Mistry and Heather Graham have put in a superb performance. An ideal movie to watch when ones feeling low to lift up the spirits.
