Fantasy director Guillermo Del Toro has been tapped to turn Disney's chilling theme park ride Haunted Mansion into a new 3D movie. The Pan's Labyrinth filmmaker will co-write the screenplay and direct and produce the live-action The Haunted Mansion. It will be Disney's second attempt to take film audiences on a tour of the horror property - Eddie Murphy starred in a supernatural comedy also called The Haunted Mansion in 2003. Favreau to transform Magic Kingdom

Director Jon Favreau has signed up to bring Disney's latest theme park attraction to the big screen - he's working on a movie based on The Magic Kingdom. Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride spawned a hugely popular film franchise starring Johnny Depp, while The Haunted Mansion amusement was turned into a 2003 movie with Eddie Murphy. Oscar nominee Eddie Murphy is set to star in a new comedy about a man who loses confidence in his high-flying career and seeks happiness in his daughter's imaginary world.
