  • Another 'based on a true story' lie!

Saw this in the US last week. This is possibly the worst film I have ever seen! Total garbage! the preview shows you the best bits of the film (excited eh?). apparently the family involved in the 'based on a true story' have totally denied everything shown in the film!

No scary bits, no story, no acting. Lets face it, the Americans can't make good horror, they let the French, Spanish and Japanese make the best films and then try to copy them, with poor results. Avoid at all costs, just when you think you've seen the worst horror film ever made, along comes this trash!

I liked this film, especially as based on a true story. Hard to believe these sorts of supernatural occurences actually do happen.

  • Annoying DVD flaw

I returned this unwatched because I was unable to skip or fast-forward the trailers! Admittedly, that might make me sound crazy and impatient, but it's so annoying.

a very average horror film with characters that do not seem believable at all. in its defense, Elias Koteas acted out the performance of his career, without him i would have rated this movie 2stars.

  • Is real life this boring?

Based on a real life story? Hmmm, who cares?

What starts out as an atmospheric grower, quickly grows into a run-of-the-mill spillage of scripts from all the other films that have been made about houses and the previous, derranged tenants. Amityville Horror meets The Others . . . . zzzzzzzz

  • Engagingly scary!!

So the previous viewer didn't find it scary - ok - but as a grizzled oldie who has seen enough films that made me jump at some scenes, I can tell you this did the trick. I actually stayed awake through this film and was a little sorry when it ended.

Goodness knows who some of the actors are, but hey, it didn't matter, they played their parts really well and kept me engaged.

    Enough said!
