great filmBy vickig0306 (429 reviews) from Halifax , 19 May 2013Having read the book I felt compelled to see the film & was not disappointed. Its great!! The acting is superb & its just as heartwarming & lovely as I remembered it to be
Get y'own backBy a customer , 17 May 2013Initially lulled me into a 'lil ol' town feeling, this film certainly packed some racially prejudiced points by the end. Well acted by a host of 'unknowns', it was a pleasure to watch, though a little syrupy.
Excellent movieBy tayldn (27 reviews) from London , 10 May 2013Can't be many guys who watched this one on their own!! My wife won't watch movies of good books. Grrr! Anyway, I read it too. It's very loyal to the book both in story and in emotional tone and characterisation. Very respectful of the quiet dignity of the main characters- and I guess the millions who must have suffered similarly. Quite emotional but thought provoking.
Great movie!By a customer , 09 May 2013The best movie I've seen in ages. Made me laugh and cry in equal proportions. Bought the DVD. Wholly recommend
A great film to watchBy a customer , 24 Apr 2013I read the book first, and was told from others that the film is not as good (usually what happens). Although there are slight changes to the book it's a really great film, made me laugh and cry!
