A fabulous sci-fi-horror- action piece
By a customer from Surrey, England , 06 Jun 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
This movie is one of the most original and thrilling of its genre. It's full of suspense, action and even sex. Ideal for those who are fed up of politically correct 'goodies vs baddies'.- Was this review helpful to you?

(38)Fast-Paced Off-Beat Sci-Fi Surprise
By kingoftheducks (16 reviews) from London , 10 May 2012This rather predictable police thriller with a sci-fi twist manages to get by thanks to an undercurrent of dry humour, solid casting and editing that - generally - keeps things rattling along at a fair old clip.
Early on there are also some rather deliciously slimy creature effects, promising something more than the film manages to deliver come the finale (I guess I was expecting it to go a bit more 'The Thing').
Nouri and MacLachlan are a surprisingly engaging mis-matched buddy team, and the villain - clear inspiration for Men In Black's Edgar - combines the Terminator's ruthlessness with a rather more comedic, wacky edge.
However, it doesn't really have anything particuarly unique to show for itself once the 2nd Act comes to a close, falling into a few repetitive switcheroos before a slightly lacklustre climax. Though, it's always watchable at the very least.- Was this review helpful to you?

How did I miss this for 25 years
By a customer , 01 May 2012Great film that I somehow missed for the past 25 years. The alien reminds of the Men in Black Edgar character, had me in stiches. Fast moving, lots of action, nice twists and overall a great film.
If you don't like 80s films then don't bother but it still holds its own in 2012.- Was this review helpful to you?

Retro alien chasing cop fun
By muel18 (5 reviews) from London , 17 Apr 2012Classic Idea, great characters although the story can seem to drag on a bit and you wonder when exactly this aliens going to get what it deserves the characters are good enough to keep you interested.

Same age as me and just as mature...
By a customer , 16 Apr 2012Just watched this through the haze of a man flu, truly amazing stuff. Doesn't take itself seriously at all but in the same light it's not hammed up or anything. The kind of thing I would have loved if I'd had a little smoke in my lungs under normal circumstances ;-). Top stuff.- Was this review helpful to you?

really good sound track too and the 'bad bloke' has interesting taste.
