The film has no brain 2By GreenwichPaul (49 reviews) from London , 27 Aug 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes remains one of my favourite horror films of all time; gritty, funny and relentless.
I quite liked Aja's updating which made the film more of a 'fantasy' but had enough visual inventiveness and good pacing to keep me engrossed.
The Hills Have Eyes 2 came along hot on the heels of Aja's remake, doubtlessly to cash in on its success and it's a disaster. Despite some attempts at topicality the dialogue is pretty flat and the story non-existent - its just a group of soldiers being picked off one by one.
This tedious excuse for a few gore effects strung together on the thinnest of plots had more than outstayed its welcome after 30 minutes and I couldn't even be bothered to fast forward through the chapters to see if if it improved. Dire!

If so , my god - I nearly vomited my Duck L'Orange back up.
Not as good as the first hills have eyes....By accurist01 (39 reviews) from High Wycombe , 19 Feb 2011Oh dear... well I saw this on the basis that the first hill have eyes was pretty good. But this follow up to that movie was pretty poor. A very weak storyline which was all to predictable. At least it was only 90 minutes to go through to the end. On a positive note the sound effects are excellent on the DTS HD master soundtrack, and certainly make you jump out of your skin a few times during the film. The picture quality on blu ray is also very good, but unfortunately the film itself is pretty bad. I didn't like the idea of using the military mainly in this movie compared to a travelling family in the first movie. The way the film ended I thought the producers intend to do another one. Please don't.... as it would be too much to endure another hour and a half of this rubbish. So watch this at your peril. You have been warned....

Why even bother?By Digdem (16 reviews) from London , 27 Jan 2011First one was bad enough, but making a second mistake by choosing it again, thinking that it might be better...No, i was wrong again. If you like to see a lot of blood and no sense then go on, watch it. If you want something better to do then, pass it...
A somewhat cheap imitation of other filmsBy VIDEOMONSTER (252 reviews) from Glasgow , 10 Nov 2010The follow up to the surprisingly enjoyable The Hills Have Eyes, swaps any originality for a run of the mill yet quietly entertaining film. The director takes a Predator/Dog Soldiers perspective. The acting at times toils, but the camaraderie enjoyed by the cast is genuinely funny (not seen since Aliens).Which makes the film quietly assuming, the rape scenes are done with efficiency making you feel for the victim, while there is a hint for a third movie. Not as good as classic like The Descent, but an enjoyable enough film.
