Came across this on The Story of Film series, a lot of thrillers and film noirs were written by women at this time but this was the only one directed by a women.
It can be seen as the precursor to The Hitcher (without the existential angst).
This is a straightforward thriller without an ounce of fat, every minute has a purpose and teaches a lesson to all the bloated rubbish that comes out nowadays.
