C Thomas Howell picks up icy passenger Rutger Hauer in this feature debut from director Robert Harmon. As it turns out, Hauer is a serial killer who quickly embroils Howell in a harrowing desert intrigue by implicating him in his sick crimes. Jennifer Jason Leigh, as the waitress who believes Howell's story, adds humanity along the way. Despite the film's huge lapses in logic and moments of wild self-parody, the plot twists generate considerable suspense. It has become something of a cult film, thanks to its surreal style and Hauer's inimitable presence.

Rutger Hauer was the perfect lead for this movie. No it does not answer all the questions, very few in fact. That is what makes the movie so compelling, it is left to the viewers imagination and unlike far inferior films this makse for a far better experience.
Ridiculous Film that was about as scary as Paddington Bear. Characters were not engaging enough for me to care about. There was no real story and we never found out anything about Rutger's character.
