The debut feature of writer/director Karl Golden, this low-budget romantic road movie is a charming piece of Irish whiskey-soaked whimsy that was shot on digital video in just eighteen days. Jonathan Byrne plays the naive, jilted bridegroom who flees the disaster of his wedding day and meets a waitress (Alex Reid) who is also on the run — from a relationship with a married man in which she always takes second place. Holed up in a rural retreat, their relationship begins as a frosty one, beset by the meddling and interference of eccentric neighbours, but begins to thaw even as their original partners come looking for them. The delight of this small-scale piece is in the naturalistic dialogue that plays up both comedy and character, as well as the delicately nuanced performances. Transcending its financial limitations, this is genuinely a little gem.

Slow starter but worth persevering with this Irish road movie tale. Inevitably the story line takes a little believing but the humour is there, and with a feel-good factor!
It felt in someplaces that this was a media studies project with seriously dodgy camera work and characters that should never even have been in the film (cross dressing weirdos!!) The film was actually fun once you forgot these. I like the complete 'non hollywood' characters and minor twists. The ending was predicted way before the end but still fun. Recommended... maybe... try it and see.
Wife liked it but not for me!

Now my Mrs watches some rubbish, but even she turned this one off after half an hour. Truly awful. Forget it. Life is too short to waste on junk like this. Consider chewing your own foot off instead.
i wouldn't bother with this it was a waste of time
Nothing like we expected, but an interesting movie, doesnt follow the traditional Chick flick theme. Worth Renting!
Came across this film by chance, absolutely loved it. Wonderful performances with a warm, feel good ending.... oh and watch out for the farmer, really funny scene.
Charming, quirky Irish film which puts most English romcoms that turn up on early morning TV (and usually star James Purefoy) to shame. Interesting characters, story and style with great scenery and soundtrack. If you're tired of slick, colourless films (as above) this should be a pleasant change. Give it a try!
Shot on a budget that would disgrace a shoe-string, here's a commendable attempt to do something different with the rom-com formula. You still know that the boy and the girl are going to end up together at the end - as cutely as possible - but the journey is something different, taking us from middle-class Dublin to the Donegal coast (although it was actually shot in Antrim, since the makers could squeeze a few extra pence out of the Northern Irish film board). It all looks far too cold to be wearing what the poor cast do (let alone going for a dip in the sea), but the tale itself, of a relationship gradually thawing out, is diverting. There's nothing very remarkable here, and the fact that the budget couldn't stretch to a tripod on which to stand the camera is likely to put some audiences off (those disposed to sea-sickness, for instance), but it's amusing enough.
This was a freshly natural yarn with Irish actors I'd never seen or heard of, who made me feel I was a fly on the wall witnessing their experiences. A happy ending to a tortuous few days for the couple, whom I wished well as they walked off hand in hand together at the end. Well worth watching, true to life, and I have a friend to whom the same thing happened and with the same ending!
