I love the House of Eliott. This BBC drama was originally screened in 1991 and the first series has finally been released on DVD. Watch as the two sisters Evie and Beatrice grow and develop together and follow the progress of their newly established London fashion house. The richness and glamour of the 1920s is conveyed beautifully in the costume of this absorbing programme, and although after 14 years its set design and cinematography are looking a little dated, and Beatrice's overly hammy upper crust accent tends to grate at times, you should persevere. The story, atmosphere and beautiful clothes are worth it. Now I just have to wait for the release of series 2.
