The Hunt review

For some unkown reason I had high hopes for this, expecting something along the lines of an American version of The Wilderness, with a bit of a supernatural element thrown in. Which, if it had been the case I beleieve I may have enjoyed. It was, unfortunately not the case. The Hunt seemed from the very start to be a third rate TV movie. Its format is very patchy, flicking from past to present in a strange attempt to tell this supposedly true story - that the families of those concerned didn't want anything to do with....I can see why!
It never really gets off the ground. Nothing of any interest whatsoever happens...at all...
It's based around a couple of 'men' out shooting a video on how to hunt deer, with one of their step sons....or 'stalk a buck' and the ex of one of these 'men' goes looking for them when they go missing. He finds some of the footage and the movie is made up of his video diary, combined with their footage, and some realtime film...and it has really bitten of more than it can chew. I would avoid it. I should have guessed by the trailers, all made by the same production company, all with the same voice over man saying things like ..'Only one man...' and 'He would find a way...' and 'Americans make some rubbish movies..'
Well not the last bit, but he may as well have.
