The film revolves around 2 families, their intricacies, their flaws and their interactions. Set in the 70s, it shows each character changing and developing... and not always for the best.
If you don't like films where the film is about the characters not plot, don't bother as you won't understand it. Everyone else - watch it at least once. I mentally tag this as similar to 'Breaking the Waves' - saying you 'enjoyed' the film may not be accurate but it was certainly good and well-acted.
