pitiful waste of time
By a customer , 11 Dec 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
I can sit through most things but this was unbearable, i only managed the 1st 25mins. I have seen better acting/script/plot at a junior school play... where the 7yr olds made up the plot, wrote the dialogue, acted, directed & produced. And the fake & intermittent Irish accent from the Drake character was just a joke... sounded like blokes doing irish/welsh/scottish impressions down the pub, -amusing in that context but painful when it's supposed to be real. What utter, utter, drivel. I feel quite resentful that i spent so long on it.- Was this review helpful to you?

It should sink without trace
By papatez (295 reviews) from folkestone , 20 Nov 2012It reminds me of the odessey movies that were popular in the 1960s when special effects were starting to become important. So what have we got? The brave but unconvincing captain Drake is hijacked by someone resembling Jaba the Hutt who, for all we know, is some kind of God, or was it a magical sultan, to go and recover something or other in order to release his (Drake's) hostage wife. He probably finished the saga but I never found out because I gave up after twenty minutes. It's a swash-buckling movie that fails to swash or buckle because of poorly acted, totally unconvincing characters or story line. It's rated as a 12 and that is probably the age of those that might enjoy it!- Was this review helpful to you?
