This documentary about a missing Texan teenager proves that truth really is stranger than fiction.

Can't believe this is a true story. Fascinating
By sean1970 (42 reviews) , 07 Sep 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Was not sure I was going to enjoy this movie as it is a documentary movie, but was so glad I went to see it as it is one of the most intruiging and suspenseful movies of the year and the outcome comes across as a thriller more than a hard fact documentary.
Nicholas is a normal 13 year old when he disappeared in 1994 from his home in Texas.
When he is reported found 3 years in Spain later he would have been 16 years old. His family are overjoyed when he returns home but with stories of kidnap and torture. But why does he have a strange accent and different coloured eyes and why do the family insist on believing the stranger is their son. Investigators start asking questions that turns the tale a dark and strange turn.
Based on a true story with original interviews from the family of the missing boy, the boy himself and investigators, this is no documentary movie as it mixes pure suspense and thrills. Unmissable.- Was this review helpful to you?

(93)Great half-hour doc, but not a film
By kew12 (3 reviews) , 20 May 2013This is great material for a half-hour documentary and it is a fascinating story. As a film, though, it just doesn't have enough meat to it. We soon got distracted by our books, the newspaper and what the cat was doing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cure for insomnia
By Dibblersan (9 reviews) from Southampton , 19 May 2013Ok so on the face of it this sounded like a great film BUT how wrong can you be. Maybe I was tired, maybe I got very quickly disinterested, but I did wake up when my missus turned it off. I would gladly have slept through the whole 99 minutes after seeing the first ten minutes. I noted afterwards that it's genre was documentary. Does that excuse this film - NO. Don't bother with this film unless you suffer from insomnia and need something to ensure a good hour and a half sleep.- Was this review helpful to you?

Couldn't grab my attention.
By SilentHouse (17 reviews) from Barrhead , 12 May 2013Me and the missus fell asleep about fifteen minutes into it. Couldn't muster the enthusiasm to put it back on so posted it back. To be fair, it might have got better but I never attempted to find out.- Was this review helpful to you?
