The In Laws - Not As Annoying As Your Mother In Law
By Gavin Fowler from North east, England , 26 Apr 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Michael Douglas stars as a nearly geriatric Secret Agent. The plot consists of Michael Douglas becoming involved in a plot to stop a submarine changing hands, the problem being the brides father gets dragged along. While this movie raises little more than a slight smile (no laugh out loud moments - rent Austin Powers if you want those). It is charming in its own way. One to rent not to buy.- Was this review helpful to you?

(31)A hidden gem
By a customer , 22 May 2013A hidden gem. Light-hearted, funny and very entertaining. Yes, you could say a bit formulaic, but actually, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Never heard of it before and it made me smile the whole way through, let alone some of the great music, made me smile and dance. Very entertaining.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very funny
By Niskin (50 reviews) from Cambridge , 08 Nov 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
This is very funny! Michael Douglas is fantastic; Ryan Reynolds I have increasing admiration for. Outrageous scenes and spoof-spy moments.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fun to watch
By a customer , 18 Sep 2011A fun film. A good sunday afternoon/evening film. Definately comedy/action. Not so sure about the thriller, but still worth a watch. No thinking required for this one, just watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not a romantic comedy
By a customer , 29 Aug 2011Bit bizarre. Douglas and Brookes are the focal point of the movie and they are watchable. They resolve a few problems; have a few laughs. This isn't a romantic comedy. Suchet and Tunney are the next people with the most screen time. I enjoyed it, but it could've been much better!- Was this review helpful to you?

5 stars
By phoeberobertson (5 reviews) , 28 Aug 2011Absolutly brilliantly hilarious
Michael Douglas is geat in this, comic timing is fantastic. The story line was great, the troubles of a full time job with all the hazards attached with trying to make sure his only son has a smooth wedding. meeting the in-laws proved so funny, the chemistry and unfolding story line are great, oh so funny.
Some cringe worthy moments that had me giggling as my fingers partly covered my eyes and toher parts that had me down right laughing off my seat (much to my dogs surprise)
If you ever need a good film to cheer you up this is so totaly it, quirky moments, brilliant humour and a great chemistry between the cast- Was this review helpful to you?
