    Well wrought but basically boring version of a basically boring classic farce full of rhubarbing Old Russians. Nice production and hilarious moments do not quite atone for the dull stretches.

    The Ultimate Danny Kaye experience

    A Pleasant film that has Danny Kaye at his farsical best. Rest of the cast do the film justice with some good performances from both Gene Lockhart(the Mayor) and Walter Slezak(Yakov).
