Rossini at his best. The music is best described as exilerating. The second act is not quite as good as the first but both are great fun. Of course its not quite Mozart, Rossini's comedies tend not to have much that one might describe as moving, no 'Porgi amor' or 'Dove sono' here. I thought the soloists might have been a bit better but the orchestra was excellent.
