Cult favourite, best ...
By Michael#26 from LONDON , 09 Feb 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Cult favourite, best remembered for its unexpected ending. The film encompasses the spectrum of all that is essentially English. A classic (eurosceptic) film, even though it's not all that well acted. Michael Caine?s wardrobe is superb, with his finely tailored suits and Quincy Jones? music holds it all together. The car chase is one of the absolute best, with the patriotically-coloured Mini?s always driven in order of red, white, and blue. This picture was, and continues to be, the greatest publicity the Mini has ever had.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 03 Mar 2013I've recently started to remember a lot of the brilliant, classic films from the sixties and seventies, which we never see on TV these days, one of them being; 'The Italian Job'.
There is something about the way films were made in those days, that is far superior to the way they are made today.- Was this review helpful to you?

in the top 10
By PhatFester (21 reviews) , 12 Jan 2013For British films this would have to be in the top ten. A robbery, criminals, good acting, great stars, grear plot, lovely cinematography, beautiful Italy, Britsh madcap humour, the full works. When asked you must be able to say you have seen this film, watch and enjoy!- Was this review helpful to you?

By denis007 (133 reviews) , 25 May 2012I truly enjoyed watching this movie. Probably one of the best Michael caine ever. The most interesting part is the car chase through the city of Turin, probably one of the best car chase ever! Truly a classic!- Was this review helpful to you?
