A double bill of films making up a biopic of Broadway entertainer Al Jolson. In 'The Jolson Story', young Jolson (Scotty Beckett, and later Larry Parks, whose voice is dubbed for the musical numbers by Jolson himself) has an ambition to perform in vaudeville, although his parents would prefer that he pursued an alternative career. However, Jolson pursues his dream, becoming the biggest Broadway star of his time. 'Jolson Sings Again' chronicles Jolson's 1940s comeback, finding popularity anew as he works to entertain the US forces during World War Two.

Excellent, kept us entertained for several hours - we were singing the songs for days afterwards. Good honest family film, highly recommended.

Fantastic - these movies and Jolson's music doesn't date. Larry Parks was amazing as the man himself ably assisted by an outstanding supporting cast. Loved it so much I bought the DVD!!

Terrific feel good films

A great deal to see both films at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Larry Parks is superb as Jolson. You really get a feel for the passion that Jolson had for music. A great night's entertainment.

Two great Jolson vehicles!!!

'The Jolson Story' broke box office records here 60 years ago. It was a smash.It's the fictionalized stoy of Al Jolson with wonderful songs.

'Jolson Sings Again' was a commercial sequel but the songs were just as great...

Got this movie for me mum (Grumpy Mum). It was one of her favourites and she was always going on about why it was never on telly. She gave it 5 stars and her word's good enough for me!
