The Karate Kid 2 is an enjoyable film for the whole family to watch. It picks up sucessfully where it's predecessor left off and shows us, how Daniel progresses through his Karate Training.- Was this review helpful to you?

They've got to be kidding
By RJNeb2 (923 reviews) from London , 13 Nov 2012This hasty sequel improbably ships Miyagi and his young ward out to Okinawa where pretty much the same plot unfolds as Film #1 but with English-speaking Japanese instead of Californians. This is all very lazy: director Avildsen doesnt seem interested in extracting decent performances from many of his cast (just check out Koves overacting in the opening scenes), Moritas charm that sold the first film is largely absent, and Dannys romantic subplot is sappy in the extreme. Any opportunities to explore the different lifestyle of Okinawa are sadly missed.- Was this review helpful to you?

good family film stands the test of time
By a customer , 18 Jan 2012In 2012 it stands the test of time. If you expect more of the Karate training and action of the first film, this may disappoint. But it is still a great film - good story with charming leads. A sound family film.- Was this review helpful to you?
