[Highly rated reviewer]On the face of it, you could be put off at thought of spending nearly 2 hours listing to someone stuttering their way through endless speech therapy lessons. However, unlike Colin Firth's last movie, A Single Man, which was a much more lightweight affair, this has real substance.
Within a short time, you really feel for the traumas that King George must have gone through.
Geoffrey Rush is spot on as the unconventional Aussie speech therapist.
Deserves at least a Bafta and maybe even an Oscar

Great filmBy a customer , 01 Oct 2013I totally loved this film. Colin Firth is superb and I loved his portrayal. In fact all the characters were pretty amazing.
A bit of over-hyped historyBy Fussypot (56 reviews) from Wales , 11 Sep 2013After seeing it get so many awards and having been reviewed in the papers so highly I expected this to be magnificent. Actually it seemed a bit rushed and rather boring. It did have interesting facts about the reasons behind the King's stammer and he man who helped him, and was well acted. However the attitude of the royals is so pompous it is funny, such airs and graces for people who are only where they are by a mere accident of birth! It passed an hour or two but I would not want to watch it again.
great classicBy dnb (11 reviews) , 09 Aug 2013Very funny, enjoyable film like colin firth, and the over actors in it. Was not sure if I would like the film but loved it, brilliant would watch it again.
