Fantastic subject treated well.
However a very cheap and badly put together documentary. The MPEG encoding is well below par - the tracking shots jitter, colours are lack lustre and on the whole the editing and reconstructions are appaling.
Vesides that though the factual inforamtion presented is interesting and helps overcome the technicaly sub standard film making. For enthusiasts only...
This documentary was somewhat short on imagery but the history was very
interesting. It was little more like a good show on Radio 4 than something that really
needed video. The maps, locations and manuscripts were good, but the re-enactments
were pretty low budget. Still worth watching for history buffs.
Ridley Scott's epic story of the crusades is available to buy on DVD this week. The film features Orlando Bloom as a blacksmith named Balian, who discovers he is the son of Godfrey of Ibelin.
