After years of playing supporting roles, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE veteran Tim Meadows finally makes the leap to the big screen with this outrageous comedy, based on a popular sketch from the television show. Meadows is the hysterically exaggerated Leon Phelps, a smooth-talking, lisping, sex-loving skirt chaser, whose every line is even more crass and politically incorrect than the one before it. Just when everything seems to be sailing along smoothly, Phelps is fired from his job as a radio talk show host for making inappropriate comments on the air. As he searches for a new job with his too-good-to-be-true producing partner Julie (Karyn Parsons), he receives a letter from a woman claiming he is her true love. The only problem is that he can't figure out which of his many conquests she happens to be. By the time an angry mob of jealous husbands--led by the Greco-Roman wrestling Lance DeLune (Will Ferrell)--catches up with him, he has decided once and for all who he really wants. Meadows's obvious affection for his character shines through in THE LADIES MAN, providing the film with a surprising amount of sweetness. In addition to many SNL regulars, Julianne Moore makes a rather disturbing appearance as a horny clown with an insatiable appetite for the Ladies Man, and Lee Evans stars as Barney, one of the bumbling husbands.

"...[Meadows] has a sharp ear for the rhythms of speech, which he's honed during his two years on SNL..."
Ladies man is about a young radio 'love' DJ who has a tendency to be extreamly crude without realising why this is fround upon by his superiors and is obsesed with bedding women . Despite his favorite line being 'would you like a fish sandwich' he is incredably sucessfull at picking up women .
A very funny film that uses black exploytation, crudeness and sex to the extream also has a decent performence from Lee Evans.
The Ladies Man is the tale of Leon Phelps, a simple minded radio DJ who is something of a hit with the ladies. The film is without a doubt the worst 'comedy' I've ever had the misfortune to watch, the protagonist fails to raise even a smile during his lengthy screen time. The only redeming features of the film are the delightful appearances of Will Ferrell and Lee Evens who play a couple of victims to Leons promiscous ways. The films only laughs come when these two are on screen, but if its them you're after you'ld be better off viewing some of their own works in which they're not dragged down by anothers poor attempt at comedy.
