Along with The Lakes 1, this is an excellent drama series. Good acting, good storylines - well worth renting.
Presume it's not meant to be as hilarious as it is? They certainly pull no punches with each other these people! Until the penultimate episode of this disc, I laughed more than I thought I would, I picked the series because I like John Simm. Black humour indeed! Is Jimmy McGovern the British Spike Lee ? Not afraid to be controversial, taking a pot at the church, dysfunctional families, more sex than the Confessions films and quite a take on the Accused. Best laugh though the injured chef seeking his wife's lover. This certainly wasn't the Lakes Beatrix Potter would have us think they were.
