Three young women from different classes are thrown together on what at first sight looks like the Dorset equivalent of Cold Comfort Farm.
Then there is the usual mixture of romance, tragedy and light relief. No real surprises, except the absence of the Americans who usually win the war and get the film shown in the USA.
Plenty of period detail. (For once the choo choo trains don't seem to have been on the Bluebell line.)
Lazy 'after the war' closing scene. Information free extras.
Apart from that, light relief of an unchallenging kind.
