Martial arts comes to Harlem in a kung fu adventure which not surprisingly has an element of homage to Bruce Lee. With Motown guru Berry Gordy backing the project, there are plenty of musical interludes as well. Director Michael Schultz tries hard but can't quite manage to tie the varied elements of action, romance, comedy and musical video together, though as entertainment, this is engaging enough.
A camp mix of kung-fu and music, directed in a broad and unsubtle manner and aimed at a young and undiscriminating audience; it is more an extended rock video than a conventional movie.
