    Awesome

Just watched this film and it was great. Never saw the 1972 original, usually remakes are a poor second, but I can't imagine how the original could have beaten this. Although it seems to start slowly, be patient, character development works well. It has Fear, Gore, Anticipation, Suspense. I Don't want to spoil it, but there is a very disturbing scene in the middle of the film - be warned.

Not as good as the original

I have seen the original, and was interested to see how the remake would shape up in comparison. I was sorely dissappointed. They have changed quite a few things, which I think the movie suffers for. I think people should watch the original before watching this and saying it is brilliant. The 1972 version is much darker, and disturbing - and you really feel for the 2 girls. In this one, I just didn't feel the same empathy towards the victims. And I think they turned the daughter into wonder woman - she is indestructable! Another example of classic 70's horror/thriller suffering by being polished and glossed.
