Muddled action movie that tries too hard for pathos and neglects any engaging narrative.
I have to admit that this film generated a few unintentional laughs - Dolph's cloying narrative at the beginning of the film being one - but in summing up, it is pretty dreadful. Apparently, the story centres around Dolph posted to a run-down army camp in California just before a MAJOR earthquake separates that State from the rest of the USA. Now, you would expect that planes and ships would simply arrive and ferry off the survivors - but not in this story. And to add to the mix, there's a nearby prison, where the inmates are led by a death sentence survivor (the electric chair's power cutting out just as the earthquake hits) and a mysterious plague - so mysterious that it's never explained where it comes from! Throw in a motley crew of stereotypical survivors - a dizzy blonde named Candy, anyone? - and the whole farce decends into a 'final battle' conclusion. Brings a new definition to 'ho-hum' movies.
if you like action films then dont bother with this one. Dolph Lundgren is not his action self in this film and even with the story being ok the action is only about 10 mins long at the end of the film
