There behind us....

The League of Gentlemen were an incredible team in their time, outshining Little Britain with their dark comedy and repeated use of plot lines from horror films.
The third series of the LoG was too dark for many, not always playing for the obvious laughs. They really should have ended things there - but did the film. The film was exceptionally poor, giving the impression that they had run out of ideas and were just doing it for the money.
Hot on the heals of the film comes the pantomime. All the old characters are there, but flogging a dead horse is an expression which has to leap to mind. There is really only one funny bit where Pauline sings 'It's raining pens', but otherwise this is lame.
It is a shame that such talent ended in this. The LoG are all now involved in solo projects of some sort. We can but hope that this is the last outing in Royston Vasey. Let's that Tubs and Edward are well and truly behind us!- Was this review helpful to you?

The League Of Gentlemen Are Falling Behind..
By Huggers (8 reviews) from Barry , 07 Sep 2009Don't get me wrong, I love these lads, really I do, and to be fair I wasn't in the best frame of mind when I watched the DVD but I was left with the feeling that it was all a bit dejavu. Excellent performances, good but familiar scripts and I expect, if you were there it was a bloody good night out. Does the magic mangage the journey from the stage to the living room though. Sadly not. Maybe I should get out more.- Was this review helpful to you?
