This British crime story has a delightfully dangerous premise: An ex-army colonel angered at being let after 25 years of service to his country, decides to fight back and put together what could be considered a nice severance package for himself. Armed with information he learned on the job, he puts together an impressive crew who may be gentlemen, but they are certainly not above a little bank robbery to reward themselves for all that proper behavior. LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN makes viewers want them to pull it off, but the authorities may already be on to their scheme.

    FILM - League of Gentlemen

Don't be fooled by the title, this is as far removed from the stomach churning antics of the TV series as it is possible to be.

I watched this film whilst wrapping what seemed like hundreds of Christmas presents the night before Xmas Eve. It made the whole time consuming effort seem worth it - the film is wonderfully acted (as things had to be prior to high budget special effects) and leaves you with a real 'feel good' feeling. I'd highly recommend this early 'Oceans Eleven' style romp to anyone...
